Biography

Marques Douglas has made a name for himself in the NFL, recording 19 sacks and over 370 tackles since starting his career in 1999. Originally signed by Baltimore as an undrafted rookie free agent in 1999, Douglas has spent the majority of his career with the Ravens, enjoyed a stint with New Orleans, plus 3 years with the San Francisco 49ers, and will be joining the New York Jets this upcoming season. Growing up in Greensboro, North Carolina, Marques was active in sports and the Boy Scouts, which instilled a level of commitment and excellence he now carries with him on the field and in his work with charities. Marques and his wife Sparkle created the Marques Douglas Foundation to provide economic relief for families in need by supporting existing school programs. He personally developed and implemented a life skills development program for incarcerated youth in Maryland, continued the program in the Justice system in California, and will carry on his efforts in Waxhaw, NC. This is the first season Marques has joined the Touchdown Shutdown Program to benefit After-School All-Stars. Given his dedication on and off the field, there is no doubt that Marques will make a difference in the lives of many children throughout the country.
