Biography
Deemed as one of the strongest players in the NFL, Igor Olshansky is the newest member of the Dallas defense. According to the Dallas Cowboys coaching staff, Olshansky has a reputation as a solid player who knows how to use his strength and power in the running game. During his four-year career with the Chargers, Olshansky started 70-of-75 games and recorded 241 tackles and 11.0 sacks. At the 2004 NFL Combine, Olshansky bench-pressed 225 pounds an amazing 41 times. While on the University of Oregon team, he set a team record with a 505-pound bench press, and during his on-campus pre-draft workout, he increased his 225-pound bench press to 43 reps. Born in the Ukraine, Olshansky and this family immigrated to the U.S. when he was seven-years old. He is the first player from the former Soviet Union to be drafted by and play for an NFL team. Off the field, Olshansky is an entrepreneur and a philanthropist. Olshanksy launched his one line of nutritional products and active-wear, called Igor Super Human Strength. This season, he has joined the Touchdown Shutdown, pledging to donate to After-School All-Stars for every tackle he makes.
