Biography
Making his NFL debut in 2006, Thomas Howard has managed to accomplish big things in just a short period of time. With over 300 tackles, Howard has made his presence known throughout the entire league. Drafted by the Oakland Raiders in the second round of the 2006 NFL Draft, Howard has started in 47 of 48 games and emerged as one of the team’s primary defensive weapons. In addition, Thomas has already grabbed seven interceptions, two of which were returned for touchdowns. Growing up in Lubbock, Texas, the sport of football has always been a major component of Howard’s life. After an impressive career at Estacado High School, Thomas joined the UTEP football team and instantly made an impact. By the time he reached his senior season, Howard had received several honors, including an All-Conference USA selection. Off the field, Thomas leads by example and places a heavy emphasis on giving back to the community. In 2009, he created the Thomas Howard Foundation to facilitate his charitable efforts and has now partnered with the Touchdown Shutdown Program to benefit After-School All-Stars. Whether it is on the football field or out in the community, expect Howard to continue to make a difference.
