Biography
Eric was drafted in the third round of the 2006 NFL Draft by the New York Jets from Michigan State University. At Michigan State, Eric recorded over 100 tackles as a Junior and Senior while maintaining a 3.95 GPA throughout his college career. As a rookie, Eric intercepted two passes and was one of the leaders on special teams, recording 11 tackles. In 2007, Eric made 4 starts and recorded career highs with 36 tackles and 19 special teams tackles. Injuries slowed Eric in 2008 but he bounced back with a great 2009 season, recording 33 tackles and an interception. Eric enters 2010 as the Jets starting safety and looks to do some big things both on-and-off the field. By joining forces with the Touchdown Shutdown Program to benefit After-School All-Stars, Eric is now hoping to make an even bigger difference in the lives of those who are in need.
