Biography
Kroy Biermann was drafted in the 5th round (154th pick overall) of the 2008 draft by the Atlanta Falcons out of the University of Montana and quickly established a name for himself on and off the field. As a defensive end, Kroy appeared in all 16 games his rookie year recording 23 tackles and 2 sacks. In 2009, Biermann enjoyed an impressive second season for the Falcons by recording 48 tackles, 5 sacks, and recovering fumble that he returned for a touchdown. Kroy grew up in Hardin, Montana before attending the University of Montana where he recorded the second-most career sacks (32) in school history. Biermann's 15 sacks during his senior season at Montana caught the attention of top NFL scouts and earned him 2007 Big Sky Conference Defensive MVP honors. In 2007, he also became Montana's first ever Buck Buchanan Award winner, which is given to the top 1-AA defensive player in the nation by The Sports Network. Off the field, Kroy enjoys giving back to the community and he recently participated in "Griz for Kids" a support group for troubled kids in Missoula, Montana. Biermann also has worked with "Helping Hands" and "Hometown Huddle" to deliver meals to home-bound senior citizens and to promote health and wellness throughout the Atlanta area. By joining forces with Touchdown Vs Shutdown to benefit After-School All-Stars, Kroy plans to use his emerging on-field talent to increase his community impact off the field by donating per sack and per tackle.
